Friday Night Volleyball November 6, 2009

Filed under: Uncategorized — johnduhnovsky @ 11:26 am

Starting Nov. 6, we will have volleyball in the Winamac COTH Gym starting at 7pm. Open to everyone. (At 6pm there is a beginners session – all welcome). As people show up a leader divides us into teams and we play. Every so often during the evening a leader will mix teams again. Very few rules and you don’t have to know how to play to start. Different teams every time. The cafe will be open from 9:00 to 9:30pm. There is seating in the Summit Cafe if you want to watch and talk instead of playing. If you have been waiting for an invite – you just recieved it – come play volleyball!:) Jeanne

“Nov. 15th we start a new sermon series called “Risk – faith, courage, and the guts to go for it!” I really think this series is going to help people overcome their fears and move into what God has for them.”

Youth Night November 19th October 26, 2009

Filed under: Uncategorized — johnduhnovsky @ 12:03 pm

A team of youth and adults met last night to talk about our future youth group. We have been driving up to Plymouth youth group for a year now and are ready to have a youth service at our campus to invite friends to.
We talked about notes from Chris Miller combining elements of atmosphere and youth service. Having these elements of a youth service is making it really easy for us!! Our areas for participating are: decor, cafe, activities, tech (including utube videos, countdown, music, and rules), icebreakers, prizes, announcements, worship, and teaching. This will be student led as much as possible.

We left with a plan to go a team Shopping Trip on November 15 for our first youth service leaving right after church. November 19th on Thursday we would have our first youth service from 6-8pm. December 10th on Thursday will be our second youth service.
We still coming up with ideas as we left. I was very excited about planning our first service and being around this awesome team!

Hensler’s pumpkin patch trip October 25, 2009

Filed under: Uncategorized — johnduhnovsky @ 5:20 pm

There were 29 people that enjoyed the pumpkin patch. The place was fantastic and we had perfect weather. The pumpkins were great and the people there were so friendly. We are thinking about another trip there for Christmas as a family trip. There is a ride out to pick your own tree and you can roast hot dogs. It really sounds like a good way to spend family time together without so much stress.
We are gearing up for the waterpark on Nov. 1 next Sunday. Hope to see a lot of friendly faces there. We are going to have a blast. God loves to see His children all getting together and enjoying the company and the wonderful scenery that He has created. We are so blessed. Share the love this week and I’ll be seeing you all later. Maggie

John Mason’s visit October 19, 2009

Filed under: Uncategorized — johnduhnovsky @ 4:21 pm

John Mason was great Sunday night. It is always wonderful to see other Heartlanders from the other campasses. He had a good sermon and his books are fantastic. I think that the C.O.T.H. is the most happening place to be. There are a lot of events comming up for all those who want to get plugged in. I love the way we all keep connected. See you all around and God Bless ! Maggie
