New Year’s Concert!!!

November 30, 2009

Hey guys! Our New Year’s Eve Concert is going to ROCK!!! We’re going to have a live band (hopefully more than one!), games, food, and prizes! We’re totally psyched to be planning such an AWESOME event! I think the leaders are just as excited about it as the Youth are! :)

This is open to all campuses, not just Winamac! So bring your teens! We’re believing for at least 100 and we’ll need all the manpower we can get! :) The whole night will be from 8pm till 1am. We can do it in shifts if that’s too long for some of you. :)

We look forward to seeing everyone!!! If you’d like to help out, contact me or Jeanne Newman.

Sponsor a Youth!

November 23, 2009

Hey guys! As many of you know, every spring, we take a group of Heartlanders to Uganda, Africa. (Awesome, right?!) Well, this year, we have a bunch of youth from OUR CAMPUS who want to join the team! But where is a teen going to get that kind of money??? This is where YOU come in! So what can you do to help? One of two thing (or both!):

  1. Sponsor a Youth! There are plenty of people in the church who need a little work done around the house or office. So get ahold of a leader, we’ll fix you up with a youth, and together, you can rake leaves, shovel snow, paint, etc.–all while raising money for the Uganda trip! You’ll also be building some great relationships!
  2. Hire a Youth and their sponsor to do a job! Need your oil changed? Leaves raked? Get ahold of a youth leader and we’ll set you up with a team (a youth and their sponsor) to come help! Donations are much appreciated and will go toward the Uganda trip! :)

For more information, feel free to contact any of the youth leaders at church (Jeanne Newman, Cathy Johnson, me, Kevin Price, or Lacey Hubenthal. You can also talk to Brian Johnson or Norm Allen) or email me–Trista Price! tkprice42206@yahoo.com

God bless!

Family

November 22, 2009

Our church is really becomming a great family. Every campass is there for the other campasses. The Pastors help each other as well as growing relationships and showing all of us how. I went to the Starke co. campass and truly enjoyed the kids there. Everyone should venture to the other campasses and check it out. It is truly a great way to get connected.
I want to wish everyone a great Thanksgiving and remember to thank God for our Blessings.
Remember the winter wonderland outreach is comming up. We will be working on the float for the parade on Sat. the 28. If you want to ride on the float give us a yell and we will gladly find you the perfect spot.
It is great that the youth are going strong. God is good !

HUGE SUCCESS!!!

November 19, 2009

The first Youth service was a HUGE success!!! Not only did we have somewhere on the upscale of 15-20 teens, but we had plenty of food to feed them, plus the awesome leaders who showed up to help make it all happen! It was something the Youth had looked forward to all week (some of them showed up and hour EARLY just to help set up) and I highly doubt that they were disappointed–I know I wasn’t! :)

I LOVE COTH YOUTH!!!

Youth Thanksgiving Feast

November 18, 2009

So tomorrow is the big day! We’re having our very first Youth service at Church of the Heartland, Winamac! We’re going to have a Thanksgiving theme, which will include games, music, and a FEAST!!! :) We’ll also be decorating a Christmas tree after the meal, as a “family”. I’ve already had Youth telling me how much fun they had on the shopping trip last Sunday and that they can’t wait till the Thanksgiving Feast! So now I’m psyched cuz they’re psyched! :) I have no doubt that lives will be changed through this ministry! Praise God!!!

Friday Night Volleyball

November 6, 2009

Starting Nov. 6, we will have volleyball in the Winamac COTH Gym starting at 7pm. Open to everyone. (At 6pm there is a beginners session – all welcome). As people show up a leader divides us into teams and we play. Every so often during the evening a leader will mix teams again. Very few rules and you don’t have to know how to play to start. Different teams every time. The cafe will be open from 9:00 to 9:30pm. There is seating in the Summit Cafe if you want to watch and talk instead of playing. If you have been waiting for an invite – you just recieved it – come play volleyball!:) Jeanne

K.w.A.m WATERPARK TRIP

November 4, 2009

Our trip to the waterpark was so COOL. There were 25 people and we all had a blast. It was fun to be with the kids but it was a great relationship builder too.
Next is the A:1:8 missions banquet and it is going to be something to remember for adults and kids alike. You really don’t want to miss it. There are la lot of ways to get connected and build relationships at C.O.T.H. Things are moving and God is in the driver’s seat. Winter wonderland and the parade is comming up. Details are to follow. Come join us. May God bless. Maggie

A1:8 Missions Banquet

November 2, 2009

Hey guys! Next Sunday (November 8th) at 5:30 EST is our annual A1:8 Missions Banquet!!! Join us for some worship, and awesome teaching, prayers, and a chance to taste foods from around the world! Last year was GREAT and I don’t expect this year to be any different!

Don’t forget to bring your kids too! The KWAM and Nursery will be having their very own Missions banquet while the adults are in their service. They will also be trying different foods and talking about visiting and praying for other countries and receive their very own passport and “Mission Essentials Kit”. It’s going to be a blast!

So don’t miss out on this awesome evening!
